Martin Bakole deals with his toughest test to date with ease. The African born Scotsman demolished his undefeated opponent to clinch the IBO Continental heavyweight title.
When the bell rang Bakole did not seem in any rush, calmly taking the centre of the ring. It seemed the Belgian may put up a stiff challenge as he showed impressive hand speed in bursts of combinations. However the difference in class was evident as Bakole stepped up the pace. After a series of ram rod jabs to the face, the African followed this up by implementing head movement.
After slipping and countering a number of shots he began to push his opponent back. Pressed against the ropes, Baghouz was the victim of some thunderous hooks to the head. However it was a a left hook to the body that closed the show as the 29 dropped to the floor. The Belgian champion looked like he could make it to his feet but winced his way to a count out.
After the fight Martin Bakole called for more support on his way to further stardom:
“I need more people to come and support me. Because I will be a champion, I promise you I will be a champion”
Trainer Billy Nelson also heaped on the praise of his fighter:
“This man is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best prospect in world boxing”
Bakole is now firmly a part of the thriving heavyweight scene in Britain and can look forward to some huge fights.
