Paul Kean scores a flawless points victory over Lewis Van Poetsch at the Paisley Lagoon Leisure Centre. The 25 year old barely put a foot wrong in his six round point’s victory.
The Charles Bronson looking Poetsch certainly had the crowd entertained with his Ali shuffles and entrance to the song Tutti Frutti. However the theatrics did not help him in the fight, as he soon found himself on the end of a southpaw jab.
Kean boxed beautifully from range, touching his opponent to the head, and shooting downstairs with a hard left. Throughout the fight he mixed up the body and head shots. The left uppercut to the body was especially effective. Poetsch was game, coming forward and throwing all night but he could not get near the Dundonian. The southpaw would often switch stance, showing sublime footwork as he moved round the ring countering. Ultimately Paul Kean utterly outclassed the fan friendly Englishman, and won every minute of every round of the fight. He now looks forward to a Scottish title fight against Stefan Sanderson.
